It’s January 4 and as I read the attached WSJ article on new years goals it prompted me to think through my goals and how I was doing.
Each New Year, we aspire to do more in our pursuit of happiness, from transforming our bodies to advancing our careers. However, the WSJ article warns against the dark side of overachieving, citing research that questions the correlation between high performance and constant perfectionism.
As I reviewed my goals I realized they may be too aggressive so instead, I adjusted to a balanced approach by starting with modest goals and gradually progressing overtime enabling myself to adjust as necessary. A key for me is to think through how to balance my mind, body and soul.
Have you committed to goals that will enable you to be happier, and more fulfilled?
