During these stressful times, it’s more important than ever to focus on our mental well-being and happiness. As someone who’s been on a journey to find more joy in my daily life, I’d like to share some insights and practices that have really made a difference for me.
Gratitude is My Superpower
I’ve found that starting my day by noting a few things I’m grateful for sets a positive tone. It could be as simple as a cup of coffee or a text from a friend. This small act helps me appreciate the good in my life, even on tough days.
Connection is Key
I make it a point to reach out to someone every day, especially my wife, whether it’s a quick call to a friend or grabbing coffee with a colleague. These connections remind me that I’m not alone and often leave me feeling uplifted.
Moving My Body, Lifting My Mood
Even on busy days, exercise is a priority, it is my adrenalizer for the day. A brisk walk, weightlifting and yoga always boosts my mood and energy levels.
Nature Mindfulness Moments
Whenever possible, I take my breaks outdoors. There’s something about being in nature, that helps me feel more grounded and at peace. I’ve incorporated short meditation sessions into my daily routine. Just five minutes of mindful breathing can help me reset and feel more centered.
Experiences
Prioritizing experiences. Planning a weekend getaway, a long vacation, or trying a new local restaurant brings me more joy and great memories.
