Post #25 — Find Your Cool Series
by Tom Reynolds
In my career, I saw what happens when people chase validation —
from bosses, markets, or social media.
They lose their center, They stop leading and start performing.
I didn’t always get it right, but here’s what I learned:
When you’re clear on your values, you stop needing applause.
You start building things that actually matter.
That’s where real influence begins, not with attention, but with alignment.
Your Move:
Ask yourself:
- What are 3 non-negotiables you’ll lead by, even when it’s hard?
- Where are you performing just to stay liked, safe, or accepted?
- What would it look like to lead without needing permission?
Write it down.
Read it weekly.
Let it become your compass.
Quote to Reflect On
“You either walk inside your story and own it, or you stand outside and hustle for your worth.” — Brené Brown
Final Thought
You don’t need to be louder.
You need to be clearer.
When your cool comes from values, not validation —
You stop chasing and start attracting.
